Supplements

The Variable is You!

Get what your body needs!

As more research has gone into biochemistry and nutrition, a greater appreciation for the utility of supplementation has developed. Today there are many supplements prescribed as pseudo pharmaceuticals because of their efficacy and minimal side effects. We often help our patients achieve their health goals via supplementation. All of our recommendations are backed by scientific research when available. However, depending on the supplement, scientific evidence supporting the use of supplements is still ongoing and some are inconclusive. We at Body Science X support supplementation combined with life style changes for optimal efficacy.

Read below for more information about some of the common supplements we employ to help our patients reach their goals.

Amino Acids are the building blocks for most biological processes, making up a large portion of our muscles and tissues. This mixture of vitamins and acids include the following:

  • Choline: Helps liver and brain function. Supports energy levels and maintains an active metabolism.
  • Chromium Picolinate: Metabolizes carbohydrates to regular blood sugars which convert into energy.
  • L-Arginine: Improves circulation and releases growth hormones to aid erectile dysfunction.
  • L-Carnitine: Transfers fatty acids into energy-rich molecules which produce energy production.
  • Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6): Breaks down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates to assist with proper brain development and nervous system function. Also creates hormones used to improve or stabilize moods.
  • Methionine: Helps reduce body fat.

This is made up of eight vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12) all working together to produce energy and promote a healthy immune system. They also stimulate memory function and improves balance while strengthening your skin, hair, and nails. Many with slow metabolisms who have difficulty controlling their weight often benefit from vitamin B complex supplements. Some common symptoms of vitamin B deficiency are anemia, numbness and tingling in extremities, memory loss and weakness. The effects of taking vitamin B complex can often start with an immediate boost in energy followed by improvements in memory and the ability to concentrate. Vitamin B6 promotes cardiovascular health, digestive, muscular and nervous system function. Vitamin B12 is levels are not easily increased with food or over the counter supplements, leaving B12 injections the preferred method of intake due to immediate absorption into the bloodstream.

  • Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): Boosts the immune system, maintains elasticity of the skin, promotes healing and lowers hypertension.

Vitamin C is a leading antioxidant helping the body develop, grow and repair tissues. With the correct levels of vitamin C, it can lower bad cholesterol and triglycerides, protect against heart disease, protects DNA and cells from free-radicals and regenerates collagen producing healthier skin, bones, and teeth. Vitamin C deficiency can cause symptoms such as muscle weakness, fatigue, joint, and muscle aches. Although vitamin C capsules are effective in increasing your levels, getting a vitamin C injection will absorb into the bloodstream faster and can be given at a higher dose.

Lipotropic injections contain three amino acids: Choline, Methionine, and Inositol. This combination helps stimulate your liver function which assists in processing fat more efficiently, making it easier to lose weight. These injections are most effective when following an exercise routine and a healthy meal plan. The use of lipotropic injections includes; increased thought process, boost in energy, appetite suppressant and quicker fat burning.
